The System Components
RUBBERCLAD EPDM MEMBRANE
Available in rolls of 200, 300, 500, 1000 and 1500mm. Thickness 0.7mm as standard, 0.5mm and 1.0mm are also held in stock. Special applications sometimes demand that a thicker membrane be supplied. In these cases, we can supply membrane up to 4mm thick. We can also supply larger, pre-cut panels so that a single seamless piece may be used to cover an entire elevation.
SELF ADHESIVE RUBBERCLAD EPDM
Self Adhesive Rubberclad has a release paper which is pulled away to expose a sticky butyl adhesive base which bonds well to steel, concrete and timber. Moy Materials Ltd stock this product in 240mm wide rolls - the optimum roll width for the glazing industry specialists. We also supply strips of partially self adhesive Rubberclad to Curtain Walling specialists who wish to have a membrane bonded to their units, with 200-300mm hanging loose so that the main contractor may seal to specialised cladding panels after a period of time.
BONDING ADHESIVE BA 007. (5 Litre Can with reusable lid).
This is a contact adhesive used for making overlap joints and for bonding Rubberclad to various substrates. It is applied by brush or roller to both mating surfaces. BA007 is a neoprene solvent based adhesive which is brushed onto both the substrate and the Rubberclad membrane. After the solvent evaporates the surfaces are pressed together resulting in a very strong bond.
FAÇADE SEALANT FS 011. (600ml foil wrapped sachet).
This adhesive and sealant paste is used to bond Rubberclad to various substrates and to seal overlaps. It is easy to apply and gives the user time to position membrane before curing. As FS011 paste is also a waterproofing sealant, it may be used to seal penetration points when mechanical fasteners (such as insulation fixings) are used, which could potentially allow water ingress. Sold in boxes of 12, each box comes complete with 12 clean nozzles designed to fit the bulk gun we supply.
LAP SEALANT LS 009
Used to seal exposed edges at joints and laps, it is particularly important to use where Rubberclad is laid flat and may hold standing water.
SPLICING ADHESIVE SA 008.
Used to make watertight joints where water will rest on the membrane e.g. gutter lining.
CLAMPING BARS.
Galvanised steel bars, pre-punched or plain, used to clamp Rubberclad in position. Typically 3 metres in length and punched at 150mm centres.
