Paralon Roof protects Architects of the future

The Architecture Building at University of Strathclyde is now water-tight thanks to a Moy Materials Paralon Total Warm Roof System.

The University required a fit-for-purpose roof waterproofing specification for to alleviate water ingress issues to the existing asphalt roof. A Moy Paralon Total Warm Roof System was selected to provide a robust, thermally efficient, waterproofing system.

The final specification called for the existing asphalt waterproofing to be repaired, with new 120mm thick Paratherm T PIR Insulation boards PU adhered over. Sections of the roof were insulated to falls in order to encourage rainwater to shed from behind the roof light penetrations to the central valley gutters.

A Moy Materials two layer Paralon waterproofing system was installed thereafter by HSR Building Services, Glasgow.

This system carries a 20 year single point warrantyfor all areas waterproofed.
